A major theme of last year's Governance of Britain Green Paper was how the Government can reinvigorate democracy. A discussion paper has now been published by the Ministry of Justice setting out proposals for engagement mechanisms including citizens' summits and juries. Together with the Empowerment White Paper, the proposed National Framework aims to increase opportunities for people to take part in decision-making in their local communities and by influencing national Government.
