A shortlist of 23 councils and their partners, chosen from 100 applications, was announced on 14th November in the revamped Beacon Awards scheme. There are four awards that recognise achievements in building economic resilience, policing, social care and education. The winners, who will be announced in March, will receive a share of a £3m pot to set up pioneering schemes for spreading their winning ideas and best practice.
