Over the past few months, against a backdrop of daily doom and gloom of the economic situation, Urban Forum's staff and trustees have been considering how we could be positive and bold in our thinking and actions. ‘Was there an opportunity', we asked, ‘to look at things differently? To halt the growing social inequality and (to borrow from E.F. Schumacher's book title) look at ‘economics as if people mattered'. Out of that initial discussion and after a lot of further debate our community reinvestment proposals were developed.

Since publishing our proposals, there has been a great deal of progress with a number of organisations and individuals lending their support to our calls for community reinvestment. We've created this blog to keep people up to date with how things are progressing and will be adding news regularly to the site - so be sure to check back and find out what's been happening.
