Duty to Involve
The Duty to Involve requires local authorities to ensure they involve representatives of local people in any activities relating to changing, improving or otherwise making things different.
The Duty to Involve was included in the 2007 Local Government Act and comes into force in April 2009. There are three main ways the Government wants councils to involve their communities:
-
Providing information
-
Consulting
- Involving in another way
