Captain's Log six seven twelve two zero zero four...

Have discovered large voluntary sector conference in the earth town of Gateshead. Run by national community regeneration umbrella body, Urban Forum, the conference will cover the earthlings journey to sustainable communities.

Here in the twenty-third century we take sustainable communities for granted but back then in 2004 it was still a process that needed explanation and discussion.

It needed important earthlings like Regeneration Minister, Lord Rooker, to give keynote speeches; plenty of thought-provoking and productive workshops; dynamic debates held within a cohesive structure; and most of all, a chance to network with other earthlings.

I have to get to this conference to see the voluntary sector at its most effective......Warp Factor five, Mister Sulu!

For those of you arriving in the normal way please find the Conference Programme Details and Booking Form here. To book your place early and avoid disappointment print off booking form and fax back to 020 7253 4817

Urban Forum Annual Conference
Gateshead Hilton
December 6/7
2004

IMPORTANT NOTICE
URBAN FORUM CONFERENCES
As a national organisation Urban Forum aims to hold conferences and seminars throughout the country, with the ambition of scheduling at least on event in each of the English regions per year. This not only allows potential delegates to live in the vicinity of at least one event during a 12-month period but also to have the opportunity to see and hear of the experiences of others with a shared interest in other regions.
Major conferences in particular will move around the country but the venues chosen for these will, inevitably, be dictated by cost and the facilities available. At times, and in order to visit an area not previously used for a conference, some compromises have to be made. However, all venues chosen for conferences will be fully accessible.
Urban Forum will attempt to make its events as affordable as possible, in particular to delegates from local voluntary and community organisations.

BOOKING RULES
Once a place is confirmed at an Urban Forum event this consititutes a contract between the individual or organisation placing the booking and Urban Forum. The individual or organisation is then liable to pay the full amount, as listed any relevant invoice, unless Urban Forum receives notice of cancellation up to 15 days before the start of the event. 50 per cent of the original amount will be liable for cancellations received up to 8 days before the event, and the full amount thereafter.
Every effort will be made to help individuals or organisations with restricted income but this will depend on the nature of the commitment Urban Forum has to make to the venue.
