Governance

Our Governance

Urban Forum's Board of Trustees govern the organisation and are directly elected by our members. The Trustees are responsible for the organisation's strategy and direction, as well as fulfilling the legal requirements under Charity and Company Law.

The Honorary Officers - Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer - are directly elected by members for a 3 year term. The Honorary Officers work closely with the Chief Executive to link the strategic governance and day-to-day organisational operations and are accountable to the Board of Trustees.

Trustees can serve for a maximum of 6 years and one-third of the Board must stand down, by rotation, at each year's AGM. Trustees must abide by a Code of Conduct and are required to declare any conflicts of interest.

More About Our Trustees

Efforts are made to ensure that the Trustees have the right mix of skills, knowledge and experience (SKE) to perform their role effectively, and that they represent the diversity of the membership as a whole. An ongoing programme of board development has been established to deliver this and co-options are used to fill any gaps that are identified through ongoing SKE analysis.
