Governance
Our Governance
Urban Forum's Board of Trustees govern the organisation and are directly elected by our members. The Trustees are responsible for the organisation's strategy and direction, as well as fulfilling the legal requirements under Charity and Company Law.
Honorary Officers are formally elected directly by members for a three-year term and work to link strategic governance and day-to-day organisational operations: they are accountable to the whole Trustee Board.
Trustees can serve for a maximum of six consecutive years and one-third of the Board must stand down, by rotation, at each year's AGM. Trustees must abide by a Code of Conduct and are required to declare any conflicts of interest.

Efforts are made to ensure that the Trustees have the right mix of skills, knowledge and experience (SKE) to perform their role effectively, and that they represent the diversity of the membership as a whole. An ongoing programme of board development has been established to deliver this and co-options are used to fill any gaps that are identified through ongoing SKE analysis.
