As a membership organisation, Urban Forum derives its credibility from representing the interests and aspirations of members. It is essential that our priorities and activities are informed by the opinions and needs of local community groups that comprise the majority of our membership.
We are committed, through the period of this strategic plan, to strengthen the relationship we have with our members and to find ways for them to directly contribute to organisational decision-making.

A variety of mechanisms exist to gather feedback from members and we will build on these over the coming years. We also want to provide greater opportunities for members to directly influence policy-making and participate in our research and policy work. We will build on the initial experience of recent participatory initiatives, including Participatory Budgeting and the Policy Forum, to provide opportunities for members to influence decision-making.
