I've been kindly supported by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust and Urban Forum to travel throughout Europe to meet some of the people behind the ambitious goal setting and to see some of their renewable technologies at work.  The community-owned renewable energy projects are driven by the wider social, environmental benefits rather than profit alone and the innovative municipal projects I'll be visiting demonstrate excellence in both leadership and partnership working; and in turn, much greater public understanding and acceptance of renewable projects and energy efficiency.
