Local Area Agreements
Local Area Agreements (LAAs) set out the priorities for a local area agreed between central government on the one hand and the local authority, Local Strategic Partnership and other key local partners on the other hand.
LAAs aim to simplify some central funding, help join up public services more effectively and allow greater flexibility for local solutions to local circumstances. They were introduced in 2004 and are now in place in all areas of England. They set out the action plan for an area over a 3 year period.
