Participatory Budgeting

Participatory budgeting (PB) is a method for enabling people to decide how specific pots of public funding should be spent.

The Government wants to see all local authorities using PB by 2012 and has produced a National Strategy for Participatory Budgeting to support this aim. The Participatory Budgeting Unit (as a part of Church Action on Poverty) has been set up to support and promote the use of PB (or Community Kitties as they are also known).
