Policy Round Up
A proposal from Leiston Town Council under the Sustainable Communities Act has received the support of over 1,100 Parish and Town Councils. The proposal would require developers to answer questions from local people at a public meeting and fund an independent report on the planning application.
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation has published a round-up of evidence and learning on community ownership and management of assets. The report draws on a series of learning events as well as research papers and briefing papers published in 2010-11.

Lib-Dem Energy Secretary, Chris Huhne, has warned scrapping the Act would be a ‘threat to the Coalition'.
Nineteen service providers have been selected to run the next phase of the National Citizen Service (NCS). The selected organisations are expected to provide volunteering opportunities for up to 30,000 16-year-olds in 2012.
