Bank reform proposals could be kicked into the long grass
The Independent Banking Commission is due to publish recommendations on banking reform, intended to relieve the credit crunch in the UK and protect taxpayers from bearing the cost of high-risk banking activities if there is a further crisis in the financial sector. Ahead of this, there have been reports from government that these reforms are likely to be put on hold at least until after the next General Election.
