Seventeen areas have been announced as ‘neighbourhood planning front-runners' and will trial the neighbourhood planning system in advance of new legislation in the Localism Bill. Areas will receive £20,000 to develop their own development plan for the neighbourhood. A further 33 areas will also receive funding to develop their plans.
