The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced £73 million to help credit unions to "more effectively help those people who are financially excluded." At the same time they announced a new service to replace welfare cheques currently cashed at Post Offices. The new service will be delivered by Citibank through PayPoint outlets.
