Proposals to simplify how local areas can use the Sustainable Communities Act have been published for consultation by the government. The new measures would remove the current system of deadlines for ideas and move to a new rolling programme, allowing proposals to be submitted direct to DCLG (rather than to the LGA) at any point. The consultation runs until 20th June 2011.
