The Welfare Reform Bill was published on 16th February; the key features of which are to introduce a new cap on benefit payments, streamline the benefits system (with the introduction of a Universal Credit) and introduce harsher sanctions. Planned Housing Benefit cuts for those people unemployed for 12 months have been dropped.
