Changes to LAA Targets will be vetoed

Despite warnings that house-building and worklessness targets will prove impossible to hit during the downturn, the government has indicated it will not allow substantial changes to Local Area Agreements (LAAs). The Local Government Association (LGA) has called for councils to be able to re-negotiate targets as part of the planned 'refresh period', but the government has indicated that big changes are unlikely to be allowed.
