New Conservative Charities and Social Enterprise spokesman, Nick Hurd, emphasised the differences between social enterprises and charities. Speaking at a Social Enterprise Coalition conference, he said it was unhelpful to regard charities and social enterprises as the same thing. The Conservatives have said that if elected they would replace the Office of the Third Sector with an Office for Civil Society.
