Third Sector Partnership Consultation response
Urban Forum has responded to to Communities and Local Government's proposals to establish a new the Third Sector Partnership Board.
Part of our response was "Whilst we acknowledge the value of having a representative advisory board operating at a strategic level, there is an ongoing need for wider participation of the third sector in policy making and in advising and informing CLG's work. The principle of participative and representative structures is well acknowledged in CLG's local government and empowerment policy-making and needs to be reflected in these proposals. A broad and coherent third sector strategy setting out how CLG will engage with the third sector across the department is still needed. The proposals for the TSPB are only one piece of this jigsaw and it is difficult to comment on them without understanding what other provisions are planned to engage with third sector organisations."
