While the future of the Duty to Involve is unclear, the importance of citizen engagement is as important as ever to the government.

This report looks at the findings of surveys we conducted of VCS organisations shortly after the Duty came into force in April 2009, as well as one year later, and analyses the Duty's successes and shortcomings in light of the new Big Society agenda.
